Finally, we did it

After several years, I'm thinking 6 or more, we bought our new camper. We changed our mind several times -- Class A, toy hauler, fifth wheel? Finally we decided on a fifth wheel, but which one? We found the exact model we wanted this last May, got our tow vehicle in August, and found the unit at a price we wanted to pay in November. Went down to Danville VA to RV Outlet USA on Veterans Day and brought it home the next day. I am sure you will see more pictures of it here once the weather warms up. Too bad we had such cold weather and had to put it to bed so early.
It is a 2011 Montana High Country model 343RL. Basically, it is our vacation home on wheels. Oh, the trips we are planning. This year, 2 weeks in Maine for sure.

Santa Sled

It took me four classes but I finished my Quilting Santa sled. The sled was provided by my kind painting teacher when I fell in love with the project but couldn't find a sled. She sent her husband to the storage barn to dig it out. Then she prepped it, and it was all ready for me to do the Santa.

When Dave saw it, he fell in love with it and said I should have given it to him for Christmas. The sled reminds us all of sleds we had as kids.

It was fun to be back at painting class. What do you think of it?

Sailing on the Chesapeake

Vacation

We had a great vacation this year. First to Steamtown in Scranton, PA, then to Rock Hall, MD to visit my sister, Marilyn, than back to Lancaster County for a quick visit (and shopping) in Amish country.

Cody and his best friend Dixie

This is Cody with his best friend Dixie, who lives just up the road. They get to play almost every day.

Painted Eggs

Here is one of my "successes" (can't show you my failures) at painting class. Just love how these country primitive eggs turned out. It wasn't hard. I think I need to do some more, don't you?

Spring is coming

I can smell spring in the air, even though there is still a couple of feet of snow on the ground. We haven't seen our first robin yet, but the starlings are back (darn). Of course, the road is a muddy mess.

Painting class (www.raspberrypatch.net) is going well. I will post some pictures of my finished projects soon. Stay tuned and stay in touch!

Still snowing

It continuously snowed all yesterday and last night. We have another 10 inches or so. Funny thing is, when we went to Watkins Glen yesterday, it was raining and looked like they had 6 to 8 inches total. My neighbor went to Trumansburg yesterday, and she says they have about 1/4 of what we have. Ahhhh, so fun living on backbone ridge!

Winter in the Fingerlakes

Gosh, I've lost count. Has it been snowing for 3 or 4 days now. We have at least 2 feet on the ground, and even the dog can't find a patch of ground for business!
